Kids' Speak

THE BAILEY KIDS: DRACULA DOESN'T ROCK AND ROLL
Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thorton Jones

It was winter time. Lisa, Melody, Eddie and Howie were walking past their teacher Mrs Jeepers’ house. It was very spooky. One loud scary scream came out of the basement. The kids went to investigate. The noise became louder. They all hid behind a huge bunch of leaves. They saw Mrs Jeepers walk by. They told her what they heard but she wasn't angry she said "I am so glad you enjoyed the BATs."

The next day at school they saw a man wearing a black cape having a case shaped like a coffin. They ran inside the school. In fact he looked like a vampire. During the class the same man appeared before them. Then Melody remembered that the man is Mr. Drake, their old school counsellor. He opened the case and took out an electric guitar. He started strumming and singing. Everyone loved his song. After school they found out that Mr Drake was performing with the BATs. They thought that Mr Drake was a vampire. They made posters of the BATs so there will be a large crowd to make Mr Drake go away. At the winter fest, the BATs and Mr Drake rocked out the party. In fact they went on tour so the kids and Bailey city was safe from BATs.

All the kids found that Mr Drake was not Dracula and was just playing in the band. Eddie was sad because he wanted to join them.
